YES!!!

I am so HAPPY right now. We purchased an entertainment center yesterday off of the fantastic craigslist. It looks so good in our living room. My camera is still being stupid so I will try to get pictures soon. It was a freaking steal too. We bought it for $300 it is 3 peices a natural wood color and really cute...I can't wait for you all to see. If you have been to Starr and Bruces it is similar to theirs, only our side peices have doors with glass. I am really excited because my TV is no longer on a bookshelf AKA. we do not look like a bunch of hobos. I cannot wait to get stuff to put on it now I am finally tapping into the want to decorate.
On a funny note while I was looking on craigslist a guy had his posting read "garage sale, prolly be able to find lots o stuff." How ghetto is that? Really!?!

US

But once in a while the odd thing happens,
Once in a while the dream comes true,
And the whole pattern of life is altered,
Once in a while the moon turns blue.

W.H. Auden, Opera Libretto

I feel like this little sonnett totally explains Heath and I and out little family. We don't necessarily do things the conventional way and our family definitely works on a blue moon. For any of who who don't know a blue moon is supposed to bring about chaos and crazyness. Our lives were the odd way, and the altered pattern but none the less our dream came true and we are so incandescently happy. A toast to chaos and the unexpected, whithout you there would be no Heath and Laura Davis, not to mention all our freaking cute kids.

OH, NO, THE FIGHTS OUT!

I'M GONNA KNOCK LEILA'S LIGHTS OUT! OKAY NOT REALLY BUT WHY DOES BEDTIME HAVE TO BE SUCH A FIGHT WITH HER. I LOVE THIS CUTE LITTLE THING BUT BOY DOES SHE TURN INTO THE MOST SASSY, LOUD, FREAKISHLY STRONG MONSTER AT 8:00? WE HAVE TRANSITIONED INTO THE "BIG GIRL BED", YOU KNOW THE TODDLER BED IN HER AND HAILEY'S ROOM. WHEN WE STARTED THE TRANSITION SHE DID GREAT FOR THE FIRST LIKE MONTH. SLOWLY SHE HAS GOTTEN HORRIBLE! IT STARTED WITH NOT WANTING TO LAY DOWN, SHE WOULD JUST SIT UP IN BED. THEN IT WAS FEET HANGING OVER THE SIDE, WHICH TURNED INTO LEGS HANGING OVER THE EDGE. IT IS NOW NOT WANTING TO BE IN BED AT ALL. BUT SHE KNOWS SHE IS NOT ALLOWED OUT OF BED SO SHE JUST HANGS HALF HER BODY OVER THE SIDE WHICH CAN'T BE COMFORTABLE, THERE IS A RAILING ON IT. SHE IS SO SILLY BUT I LOVE HER, AND OUR BEDTIME RITUAL IS JUST ONE OF THOSE THINGS, WHICH I HAVE LEARNED FROM CONFERENCE, IS SOMETHING THAT I WILL MISS RATHER SOON. SO I AM LIVING UP THE FIGHTS AND I WILL HOPEFULLY REMEMBER HOW FREAKING FUNNY THEY ARE. HAPPY WEDNESDAY!
BY THE WAY IT I 9:00 AND SHE IS STILL NOT SLEEPING AND YEP YOU GUESSED IT SHE'S HANGING OVER THE RAIL.

The last two

This little story was my sunday/monday read and I was really impressed the fourth book is definitely by far the best out of the saga. I thought there was a lot more exciting and I like how she split it up and did the bit of Jacobs interpretation of the story. I found all of the characters to be mesmerizing and the story was pretty impressive. What an Imagination this chic has. Well done Stephanie Meyer. I am actually excited for the movie to come out also.

Okay I finished this one friday and I was a little dissapointed. I thought it was an uneeded book. It was just an extension of the second book. There weren't really any new characters and the plot was really just a spill over. I like it don't get me wrong but I was just expecting more I guess. I have really enjoyed these books, it's a nice little love story.

Book two

So I went to Walmart and purchased this yesterday. I finished it and will have to say I thought it was good. I liked the fact that "I love you" was not everyother sentence. I have noticed with her books that she liked to save all the excitement for practically the end of the book. But I was pleasantly surprised to find it a lot less repetitive however it was a little more whiney. I liked it and find it a good read. I am actually excited to read the third and fourth installment of this story. My questions is...Does he turn her into a Vampire? My answer is yes, but I guess I'll have to wait and see.

Book Review

Well I was curious as to all the excitement about these books so yesterday I read the first one. Thats right YESTERDAY. If you are looking for a light read I would highly recomend this. It is not my typical read. I am not a fan of the mushy "I love you and can't live without you" type of book but once you get past the fifty million "I love you's" it is a very cute little story. I will say close to the end it was pretty suspensful. In any case it kept my attention throughout a very lengthy dentist visit. I would recomend this for those who do not like to read and for young teens...they love the silly mushy stuff. I am excited to see what the next 3 books hold. Happy reading.
And sorry it has been forever since I have blogged I just finished up on Reece and Lindsays bridesmaids. Plus dentist visits, trying to finish unpacking not to mention preschool and there was Heath and my birthdays.

I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!!!

So this little monkey, named MORGIN for any who didn't know, is getting so big it is RIDICULOUS. As most of you know I am doing preschool in my home this year, yes I still have spots available. Anyways I have started word blending with this little man and to my delight, and amazement he is doing awesome. word blending is when I show him "AT" we then put different letters in front to form other words ie. "b" bat, "c" cat. He was catching on so fast it was crazy by the end of our 15 min session he wasn't even needing any promptings from me. He can now read one whole book on his own, it's a repetition book, "I see a ____" shows picture on each page and same words exept the last. So it's not like he is reading DR.SUESS or anything but this is the begining of reading and he is doing so good and I could not be more proud of this kid, I can't believe how smart he is. He is so much like me, he loves to learn and finds it so exciting when he understands something. I love having him at home and I am SO sad that he will go to school next year. I literally get anxiety thinking about not having my kids at home to play with. What will we do with Mo gone all day? He is so much freaking FUN!!! I lOVE THIS KID.

We are Chinese..are you

So we went out to eat at this hole in the wall chinese place (it was delicious). Anyways I guess Miss Hailey didn't feel as though she looked as chinese as the rest of her family. I am half in case anyone didn't know, my dad is from China. Well Miss decided to take matters into her own hands and, with the aid of her trusty chopsticks, she helped genetics out a bit and got some beautiful almond eyes. Isnt she so cute...and ethnic. She definitely takes after the Davis side. Leila is obviously a Wong.

Next up was a nice "Mole' impression. My dad has this mole on his cheeck (he calls it his "sexy mole"). My children are obsessed with it for some reason. I believe she has a pot sticker in there. But she is so cute is always doing the funniest crap...esspecially with props.

Ouch!

So yesterday this adorable little girl starts crying in the hall. When I ask her what happened she cries "Bite! Ouch!" so I pick her up and ask her where she got bit and she shows me her arm, which has 4 perfectly clear little teeth marks. I then say "ooh, did you bite yourself?" she then screams "YES! OUCH!". It was so cute. She totally bit her own arm, hard enough to leave prints behind. Poor little thing, it was so cute and dang funny.

Our little Leila has been talking up a storm the last few weeks. Some of my favorites are bite (of course), mine, no, hailey (which is more like He-ee), please (pees), drink and I love Nana (banana). yesterday when we were painting she said red, blue, yellow, and purple, but those were just mimicks she doesn't know what they are yet. But I cannot believe how big she is getting already. I miss her being a baby, she is definitely the baby of the family but I miss her being an actual infant. This is however one of my favorite ages. They are so much fun to play with and they are so explorative and just sweet and fun. I love it. Sometimes I think I am too blessed, like what did I do to deserve such a great life ( but we all probably think this right?).

The Move

Okay so we have officially moved into our new house...And I lost my camera during said move so no pictures for you, so sad. Anyways it has been a crappy couple of weeks with painting and packing and children and cleaning oh my. A special thank you to Bruce Davis, Ben Opfel, and Adam Webster for having extremely large muscles that help so much in moving a TON of crap. I am pretty excited to get things moving aka. unpacked so until next time Happy Monday.

Cell phone number 7

So in the 5 and a half years that Heath and I have been married I have gone through a total of 7 cell phones. The last 5 have been in the last 3 years compliments of Miss Hailey. Well she has passed her phone destroying torch on to Leila who has recently given mine a toilet bath. I was totally on a roll with this one, just over a year mind you. Well my phone was so dead that they could not get any info off of it and so I have lost all my numbers. So if you are someone I talk to, or should talk to, please get me your numbers. You can either leave them as a comment or email them to me at www.laurawdavis@hotmail.com. This includes family because, and I really hate to break this to you but Heath does not have anyones number.

Sewing contest outfit number 1

So here it is my first completed outfit for the contest. I used simplicity pattern number 3631. I highly recomend this pattern especially for those who are not the best sewers. It looks really good for the difficulty. I did do alot of altering to the patterns though.
Wish I would have worn my patent leather wedges I look like ronald mcdonald in those ones. But they are the most comfortable shoes, that Gianni Binni makes fantastic shoes.

The pictures are compliments of Jodi Davis my Sis in Law she is amazing.

I don't know about you...

I don't know about you but sponges are the absolute most disgusting things in the kitchen. I cannot stand when the following things happen 1) they fall in the sink, get wet and proceed to sit in there all night long B) once they have fallen into said sink they fester ad grow millions upon millions of bacteria. 3) people use hem to clean my counters, GROSS! that is pretty much just wiping germs onto my counter tops. And yes I am a freak when it comes to the places where I prepare my food. Yes, I am fully aware that I am a freak about sponges but I believe that they are the most vile utensile ever. Those genius' over at clorox are amazing, I live off of clorox wipes.

Happy Birthday Miss Hailey

Yet again I am late on a birthday posting. Miss turned 3 on may 25th. I cannot believe that she is already 3 years old it has gone by way too fast. She is so much fun and such a blessing to our house. I think sometimes she keeps me sane. She is unlike any of our other kids. She is alot like Heath and I she is quiet, and a self entertainer, the girl will play by herself for hours, its fantastic. Anyone who knows her will tell you she is a little priss. She is such a girl it is not even funny. She lovesshoes, dresses, princesses, makeup and nail polish and diamonds, just like all princesses do. This little one is such a drama queen too, I think it comes from having an older brother and Daddy who pretty much give her whatever she wants whenever she wants.

I love this pic of her "mean face" I believe Leila was trying t steal her water bottle. She's FIERCE!
So here are some pictures from her birthday party we had so much fun.

This is her awesome cake, the pink cake was three stacks and the chocolate is two. She said she wanted a princess castle with all the pincesses and princes.

This would be what Leila looks like most of the time. The girls favorite thing to say is "I EAT!" which means give me something to eat or I will yell my head off. But how cute is she shoveling food into her mouth.

well we love our little Miss and cannot wait to see what she suprizes us with this year. She has been cursed the last few years. every birthday something huge has happened to her, right after birth she has a seizure, birthday #1 has to have surgery on her booty for a abcess, birthday #2 she falls 6'' off the couch and breaks her leg and gets a cast I am afraid of what will happen this year. Maybe we have broken it and nothing will happen. Happy Birthday my cute one.

Glasses

So anyone who knows me knows that I wear glasses and that I have a million pairs, okay more like 7 but in glasses world that is alot. I am not a woman of great money but I like to be pretty stylish and I HATE to pay big prices for things. So many people ask me how I can afford to have so many pairs of glasses. Well it is your lucky day I am going to share with you my secret.

I Get my eyes checked at eithwr Wal-Mart for $60 or I find a special where I get eyecheck and 2 pairs of glasses for $60. I then take my prescription and measurements and go to a very MAGICAL website called zenni optical. At zenni optical I can choose from hundreds of glasses ranging from $8 to $20. They are really cute too. The price includes frames and prescription glass. For an extra $5 you can get anti-reflective coating. For another $5 you can get tint aka.sunglasses. The best part is...shipping is only 5 bucks no matter how many you order. These are the 2 I just ordered

I had these before and Hailey broke them. There was no need to yell because I only spent $5 on them.

Yes I am fully aware that they are old man glasses, but now with my genius and $5 tint they are some really cute sunglasses
So total I spent $25 on 2 pairs of glasses and one pair are sunglasses. I think my total elsewhere would have been like $250. I hope this has helped all you glasses wearers out there. and you who wear contact lenses I am sure you probably need a backup pair of glasses. Please let anyone who wears glasses know about this little gemsite. I hope this helps

Busy, busy

So Why has it been so long since I have blogged? Well, let me fill you in on last week. I am getting ready for a sewing contest, I have to use simplicity patterns. They are not ready yet but here are a few teaser pictures.

This is a skirt for one of my outfits. It is this awesome purple brocade with an asian print on it. It is embelished with black piping in the seams, and it looks amazing.

Outfit number 2 is a cheetah print high waisted skirt that will have some black satin faux pockets on the front.

I did a skirt for a friend, that is really cute I may end up making myself one.
Mo's preschol had a little water party so we went to that. He also had his graduation, pics still to come.

Here are a couple of pictures. The little brunette is Kaitlin and I am pretty sure he has a little crush. At one point he was resting his hand on her leg...it was so cute.

And of course little miss "I will never stop nursing". That;s right if she isn't nursing then we are fighting about nursing. I cannot get her to stop and it is driving me crazy. I think I may have to go cold turkey on this one.

We are doing some home repair. These are our new door knobs, aren't they cute, I love them. We had the hideous gold ones before.

And let us not forget girls camp preperations. This is the leaders flag which still is not done, but I am getting to I promise.

One zipper alteration, For my sis-in-law.

And then there was the 2 swimsuit alterations and a pair of swimshorts, And let us not forget the dailey laundry and dish exploits either. And lets throw in Heaths 2 migrains this week also. This was a week where I thought I would die. But I got it ll done and had enough time to spare for my fantastic husband and children.

Making a door-- part deux

So FINALLY here is the finished product. Sorry it has taken me so long to post it. My next post will explain my absence more fully. Anyways I think the door turned out pretty cool. it is painted like a cave and then we did a vinyl sticker of a dragon in the cave. Mo helped so much and loves it he shows it to everyone.

Thanks to my sis Melissa for helping me paint it, you are great and we miss you. And thank you Sue for the sticker it makes the door so awesome. And thanks to Heath for not being upset that we turned the door into a fearsom cave, he puts up with so much from his crazy wife.

Making a door

So my mother, sister and I thought it would be awesome if we painted Morgin's door like a cave with a dragon in it. I am redoing the kids' rooms and thougt it would look good with the decor. Well first of all it was alot of work, but it was super fun. Mo even helped and he did a really good job. So here are my teaser pictures to get you all interested and I will post pictures of it done soon.

While we slaved away making a door little miss Leila sat on the floor doing this. By the time we realized what she was doing there were napkins all over the place torn into a gazillion peices. She is so stinking cute though so we let it slide.

CAMPING

So a couple of weeks ago we went camping with Cory and Kristyn McClaws, Daniel Wong and Ben Opfel. We had so much fun. It was the first time we have been camping since Mo was little, and I believe I was prego with Hailey, in other words years.

Take a look at these HOTTIES! My man Heath on te left my little bro Daniel in the middle (tat is not real by the way) and Cory on the right...what a bunch of studs. They are so rugged and manly with their camo pants and feirce ax's.
It's like a flippin magazine ad or something.
okay there is seriously nothing hotter then a man chopping wood. They get this totally intense face on, then take a giant breath and I am pretty sure they gave off some sort of grunt or howl every swing, it was hilarious.
I belive Ben's face was the best.

Mo had so much fun playing with Max, Cory's dog. They both fell into that creek on many occasions.

Hailey is a little more cautious, I think because she knows that she is clumsy, she was always holding a hand.
And lastly, Little Leila she was not too fond of camping. I am not sure if it was the cold or the dirt or the lack of a proper bed, but she was a little grumpy this morning.

She got a little happier when we set up a little playground, that is until the dog came and stole her crackers, then we got this face and a lot of screaming. What can I say we Davis' take our food very seriously.

Shootin' the gun...
At beer bottles.

All in all it was a really fun trip and I can't wait to go again.
